1.
Open the photo of Britney Spears and save it in your folder on
the G drive.
2. Open the photo of Eminem and save it in your folder.
3.
Zoom in to Eminem’s face.
4. Click on the lasso tool.
5. Change the feather of the lasso tool to 3 pixels.

6.
Use the lasso tool to circle eminem's face.

7.
Copy and paste it onto the Britney file. You'll notice that is
is huge. Why is it so big? What effect did changing the feather
to 3 pixels have?

8.
Transform the face (control-T) and change the percentage to 26%.
Make sure the "maintain proportions" chain button is
pressed. Also rotate the face 4 degrees. Line his face up next
to hers so that the eyes are at the same level. The slide his
face over so that it covers hers up.

9.
Adjust the color balance (Control-B) to match Eminem's skin tone
with Britney's.

10.
Use the erase tool to feather the edge of Eminem's face a bit
more. Use a brush size of around 13. Make sure the hardness is
at 0%. And change the opacity to 50%. Trace the edge of the face-
be careful of the eye on the right. If you erase too much, Britney's
eye will be visible. Undo (Control-Z) if you need to.

11.
If you are happy with the results, flatten your image (layers
menu) and save it in the "Finished Britney"
folder in your class's folder. The name of your file must be your
last name. The file type must be a JPEG. Make
sure the quality of the JPEG is 12 and that you
save it as a large file.
12.
Next, put Britney's face on Eminem's
body. You'll need to change the feather on the lasso tool to 1
pixel. The face needs to be transformed to 370%
of its original size. What does increasing its size do to the
quality of the image? Would it be better to find a larger
image of Britney to use? The color balance levels are shown below.

13.
When you feather the edge of the face with the eraser, I recommend
using a 45 pixel brush. You may want to squeeze (transform) the
face horizontally a little.
14.
Flatten the file.
15.
Save it as your last name as a JPEG in the "Finished
Eminem" folder.

16.
Take a look in the Library Folder at the Movie Posters that were
done for the yearbook.
17.
What kind of ethical issues might be involved in putting someone's
face on a photograph of someone else? What if that was done by
a newspaper? What if The National Enquirer did it? Should
they be held to the same standards as The New York Times?
