Russian Exchange Program
Every other year students from our Russian program (from Intemediate on) are given the oppurtunity of participating in our exchange program with Petrozavodsk, Russia. This is a tremendously enriching one-month home-stay/academic program, which is generously supported by the federal government. The Russian Club also raises funds to provide scholarship assistance for the exchange. So far, 90 students from Amherst have spent a month in Russia as part of the exchange, and an equal number of visitors from Russia has attended ARHS. In addition, five Russian students from Petrozavodsk have been fully sponsored to attend ARHS for half a year.
Because only six students (eight being the minimum) signed up for the exchange last year, the exchange has been postponed to this year. The first meeting for those who are interested in going has already happened. If you missed the meeting, you can contact Ms. Wobst at wobstj@arps.org to arrange to get more info.
DON'T FORGET: If you plan on going on the exchange, July 1st is the deadline for the first deposit of $250.
