What is onomatopoeia?

It is a word that describes a sound, an action, or a feeling.

 

Examples of onomatopoeia words are: bang, pow, crack, zow, kaboom, splash, bzzz, thump, crash, splat, achoo, squeak, whomp, whop, bing, cling, sizzle, snap, clang, Ah, kra-kam, thunk, swish, swamp, ha ha, pop, crackle, squish, squelch, thud, eek, whap, woof, ugh, jingle, hmmm, snort, ching, belch, blech.
