Library Life: December 2005 Wildwood Library has a newly designed and expanded website thanks to Amherst High School junior, Sarah Higley. Sarah, a Wildwood alum, has spent this past trimester working on the website through the high school internship program. I am very grateful for her technical expertise and pleased that she chose our library to continue to pursue one of her interests, web design. Please check out the Wildwood Library website where you will find all sorts of information about the library, events, and new books in the library. The address is: http://www.arps.org/ww/Library/index.html There is a link to it off of the main Wildwood webpage. Now that Sarah’s trimester with us is about to end, perhaps someone reading this would like to help continue the website. Students are busily reading nominated books for the Mass. Children’s Book Award. Students who read five books will be eligible to vote for their favorite at the end of February. This is an annual event for students in grades 4-6. The Amherst School Libraries received an AAEA (Amherst Area Education Alliance) grant to start parent libraries in each of the schools. Books in the collection will feature subjects of interest to the parents of our students. If you have any suggestions for our Parent Collection, please let me know. You can write to me at: edonoghue@arps.org or put a note in my mailbox in the school office. Elaine Donoghue - Librarian |
