The Amherst-Pelham Regional School Committee and the Amherst and Pelham School Committees, the latter two acting cooperatively through the Union #26 School Committee, shall jointly appoint an Assistant Superintendent. Such appointment shall be confirmed in a written Contract of Employment which shall include terms and conditions of employment.
The Assistant Superintendent shall be directly responsible to the Superintendent of Schools who shall outline the responsibilities of the position in a written job description including the qualifications of the person who holds this position. The job description must have the approval of the School Committee.
The Assistant Superintendent is designated a managerial and confidential employee in regards to collective bargaining as defined in Chapter 150E of Mass. legislation.
