Children who will be five years of age on or before September 1 of the school year during which they wish to enroll will be eligible to enter kindergarten in September. No waivers or exceptions to this policy will be allowed.
A student transferring into the school district whose age is less than the minimum specified above must show evidence of regular attendance for more than 50% of the school year in full-day kindergarten in another school system.
Initial admission of children to the first grade (or other grades) will involve a consideration of both chronological age and the readiness of the children to do the work of those grades.
