Steps to Success Is…
A program that will extend the support given to families and students beyond the school day. We will concentrate on what families need to support the educational SUCCESS of their children. We will facilitate:
Each student will have a personal Success Plan to help them set personal goals for the year, monitor their progress, and gain recognition and rewards for their advances. Steps students, their Advisor, parents/guardians and the school principal will all be part of this competency-based plan at the start of each school year.
The key element of the Steps to Success model is building long-term, trusting relationships with our students and families. This is the job of the Steps Advisors, who help young people stay on track in school, develop study skills and strong work habits, and act as the liaisons between home and school.
Families are welcome to meet Advisors in the Family Center or Advisors can make home visits to parents/guardians to review their children's progress and support family involvement in their education. Advisors interact daily with teachers and school administrators and help coordinate the many Steps programs, educational excursions, community partnerships and other activities year round.
