Leigh Whiting-Jones was appointed Principal of Pelham Elementary School in 2020. 

Before joining the Pelham community, Leigh worked as Assistant Principal at Blanchard Memorial School in the Acton-Boxborough Regional School District. Before becoming a school leader, she taught first and fifth grades in the Newton and Winchester Public Schools, respectively. Leigh worked for a variety of social justice organizations before entering the classroom, and a commitment to equity and inclusion shapes her practices as an educator and leader. She is an advocate of outdoor learning and is known to keep a pair of hiking boots in her office. 

Leigh earned a master’s degree in Organizational Management from Endicott College, a master’s degree in Elementary Education from Lesley University, and a bachelor’s degree in Communication from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. 

In addition to teaching and learning, Leigh enjoys practicing yoga, baking treats, and reading in the sunshine.
