The Title I Summer Achievement Academy is a supplemental educational program in which K-3 students have an opportunity to keep building their reading and writing skills, sustain their literacy progress, and gain readiness for the next grade level in the upcoming school year. K-3 literacy learning includes essential reading skills for connecting letter sounds and letter names, sequential phonics concepts that support decoding words, morphology, building oral language, and improving fluency to read with accuracy and automaticity. Ample opportunity to practice in game formats, hands-on word building activities, and stories that contain the same phonics concepts being learned is critical to students’ progress. The Title I summer program is a 4-week morning program in July that provides an important learning opportunity that is both engaging and fun for our Title I eligible students. Transportation, breakfast, and lunch meals are provided.
